Pusoy: The Game Every Filipino Knows
Now with real-money tables at Gems Slot
Ask almost any Filipino about Pusoy and you'll get a smile in return. It's one of those games that crosses generations — lola playing with the apo during Christmas, barkadas settling in for an all-night session, officemates killing time on payday Fridays. The game is wired into Filipino culture in a way that few card games anywhere in the world can match.
At Gems Slot, we built our Pusoy tables to honour that tradition while making the experience smoother, faster, and accessible wherever you are. Whether you're on LRT commute or waiting for your order at a carinderia, you can pull up a Pusoy table on your phone and be in a game within seconds. No need to round up three other people — the tables are always running.
What you get at Gems Slot is not some generic card game with a Pusoy label slapped on it. The hand rankings follow the rules Filipinos actually play by, the interface is clean and readable even on smaller screens, and the stakes are flexible enough for casual players and more serious grinders alike.

How to Play Pusoy
The basics, for new players and a quick refresher for everyone else
Pusoy (also known as Chinese Poker in some circles, though Filipinos have long made it their own) is a four-player card game played with a standard 52-card deck. Each player receives 13 cards and must arrange them into three separate hands: a back hand of five cards, a middle hand of five cards, and a front hand of three cards.
The key rule: your back hand must be the strongest of the three, your middle hand must be stronger than your front hand, and your front hand can only use three cards. If you set your hands in the wrong order — meaning your front beats your middle, or your middle beats your back — you're declared a foul and automatically lose the round.
After everyone sets their hands, all cards are revealed and compared. Each player's three hands are matched against the corresponding hands of every other player at the table. You score one point for each hand you win. Sweep all three hands against one opponent and you score a royalty bonus on top.

Each of the four players is dealt 13 cards from a shuffled standard deck.
Set Your Hands

Pusoy Strategy Tips That Actually Work
Practical advice for players who want to stop guessing and start winning
Pusoy isn't purely luck. Yes, the cards you're dealt are random, but the decisions you make after that — how you arrange your three hands — are entirely up to you. Good Pusoy players consistently outperform bad ones over time precisely because hand construction matters.
Never Foul Your Hand
This sounds obvious, but fouls happen when players rush. An automatic loss hurts more than a poor arrangement. Take your time during hand-setting, especially on high-stakes tables. Always double-check that Back > Middle > Front before confirming.
Protect Your Back Hand
Your back hand scores against all three opponents, so it should almost always contain your strongest combination. Resist the temptation to "balance" your hands — putting a mediocre flush in the back and a strong two pair in the middle is usually the wrong call.
Front Hand Is a Three-Card Battle
Your front hand is three cards only, so it will naturally be weaker. The best you can realistically achieve is three of a kind. Often, a strong pair in the front is more than enough to beat opponents who have nothing there.
Watch Opponent Patterns
In real-money Pusoy on Gems Slot, pay attention to how often specific opponents achieve royalty hands. Some players always try for bold arrangements; others play conservatively. Adjusting your own strategy based on what your opponents tend to do is a real edge over time.
Use Lower Stakes to Practice
If you're new to real-money Pusoy or trying out a variant you haven't played before, start at Gems Slot's lowest stake tables (from ₱20). There's no shame in building experience at smaller stakes before moving up.
